GlossGenius is a business-management platform for beauty, wellness, salon, spa, and medspa providers. Professionals use the official app or browser login, while clients normally book through a providerโ€™s public booking website without downloading an app or creating a GlossGenius account.

This independent guide is not affiliated with or operated by GlossGenius.

Use the professional account to manage forms, reminders, appointments, and employee access. Clients looking for an appointment should use the individual businessโ€™s booking link.

What GlossGenius is used for

GlossGenius combines online booking with client records, appointment scheduling, payment processing, marketing, reporting, forms, waivers, and team-management tools. Its public booking system can display available services and appointment times without requiring the client to maintain a separate account.

The private account and public booking website serve different people.

Owners and authorized staff use the private dashboard. Clients interact mainly with the booking website, confirmations, reminders, forms, and appointment-update messages sent by the business.

Landing on the wrong side can look like a technical problem. A client may reach the professional login and assume registration is necessary. A team member may open the public booking page and wonder why the business calendar is missing.

Change pages first. Skip password recovery until the userโ€™s role is clear.

Where professionals log in

GlossGenius documents glossgenius.com/login as the browser route for computer access. Professionals can also use the official mobile application.

The email used at sign-in must belong to the correct owner or team-member profile. A person who works with several businesses may sign into a valid account yet see the wrong calendar, client list, or permissions.

A successful login does not guarantee access to every function.

GlossGenius gives account owners granular permission controls for team members. Those controls can restrict or permit access to calendars, services, reports, clients, marketing tools, and other business functions.

Check permissions first. Do not share the ownerโ€™s credentials merely because an employee cannot open a setting.

Some client-profile actions also differ by device. GlossGenius states that adding a client profile picture and initiating a text, call, or email from the profile are currently unavailable through the web browser login.

How Genius Forms and waivers work

GlossGenius offers digital forms and waivers that businesses can connect to their service and appointment workflows. The companyโ€™s documentation covers Genius Forms, waivers, external forms, and configurations involving multiple forms.

A form can be used to gather information before an appointment. A waiver can document a clientโ€™s acknowledgment of business terms or treatment-related statements.

Those purposes should not be mixed carelessly.

A business should give each form a clear job, keep questions relevant to the service, and review the client experience before attaching the same form to every appointment type. A short haircut may not need the same intake process as a longer wellness or aesthetics service.

Start with one service.

Book a test appointment, inspect the confirmation, open the client-facing form, and confirm where the completed response appears in the client profile. GlossGenius lists Genius Form results within the profileโ€™s Notes and Forms area.

When clients receive form notifications

GlossGenius says form and waiver notifications can be included in scheduling, confirmation, and reminder text or email messages when the relevant notifications are enabled.

That creates an important dependency: attaching a form does not mean every communication channel is active.

The business should review its notification settings, then test the exact client route. Check whether the client receives the initial scheduling message, a confirmation, and a reminder before assuming the form was never attached.

An older GlossGenius support page states that clients do not receive a separate dedicated reminder solely for an incomplete form or waiver. The current Forms and Waiver FAQ describes form links appearing through normal appointment communications instead. Read the live account controls and current support article together because this behavior may change as the product is updated.

Do not promise a separate form-chasing message unless the current account setup actually sends one.

Notifications that can and cannot be disabled

GlossGenius provides settings for confirmation notifications, reminder notifications, and rebooking reminders. Its support documentation says ordinary client and owner notifications are not deducted from the text-marketing message balance.

Not every message type can be turned off.

GlossGenius states that scheduling, cancellation, and declined-request notifications cannot be disabled. When canceling an appointment or declining a waitlist or appointment request, the professional may also see an option to send a text or email explaining the action.

This matters when a business is trying to reduce client messages.

Turning off a reminder category will not necessarily stop operational messages produced by scheduling or cancellation actions. Review each notification type rather than using a single on-or-off assumption.

Appointment reminders and rebooking texts

GlossGenius promotes automated confirmation, reminder, and follow-up messages as part of its online booking system.

Rebooking reminders serve a different purpose from appointment reminders. They prompt a client to schedule a future visit after a completed service rather than reminding the client about an appointment already on the calendar.

GlossGeniusโ€™s current documentation says the rebooking reminder is enabled by default and is presently sent by text message. The mobile path is Features > Settings > Client Notifications > Rebooking Reminders.

There is a browser limitation.

GlossGenius says rebooking reminders currently cannot be triggered when checkout is completed through the web browser login.

A professional who relies heavily on this retention feature should test mobile checkout before assuming the reminder system is broken. Skip editing every notification setting when the actual difference comes from the checkout device.

Client cancellation and rescheduling controls

GlossGenius lets businesses control whether clients may cancel or reschedule their own appointments. The online booking rules can allow those actions when the request falls outside the businessโ€™s cancellation window.

For team accounts, booking rules set by an authorized user apply across the team rather than to only that individualโ€™s calendar.

That scope can surprise owners.

A manager may believe they are changing one providerโ€™s settings when the rule actually changes the client experience for every professional using the shared account. Review the team-wide effect before enabling self-service rescheduling.

Allowing client changes can reduce manual messages, but the business should also consider whether rescheduled appointments create inconvenient gaps or move complex services into unsuitable time blocks.

Test the rule with a sample appointment outside and inside the cancellation window.

Editing an appointment without confusing the client

GlossGenius supports editing and rescheduling appointments through the account calendar. Current documentation indicates that the relevant permissions can include access to the userโ€™s own calendar and the calendars of other team members.

The notification options can vary by interface.

GlossGeniusโ€™s current appointment-editing article notes a limitation involving update notifications in the mobile app, while also describing a prompt that can offer email and text update choices during the workflow. Because interface behavior may differ by device and release, inspect the final confirmation screen before saving the change.

Never assume the client was notified.

After moving an appointment, verify whether an update message was selected and whether the new time appears correctly on the calendar. For a significant change, direct communication from the business may remain appropriate.

Fixing a GlossGenius login problem

Start with the official login screen and select Forgot Password when the password is uncertain. GlossGenius sends a recovery message to the email address associated with the account.

The current support instructions also address missing text-message verification codes. GlossGenius says users may have unsubscribed from authentication notifications and provides steps for restoring those messages. Users who cannot access the account email are directed to official support for help changing it.

Use this order:

  1. Confirm the business email.
  2. Test the app and browser separately.
  3. Request a password reset.
  4. Review verification-message delivery.
  5. Check whether the account opens with restricted permissions.
  6. Contact official support if both recovery routes fail.

Do not create another business account after one failed code. A duplicate account will not automatically contain the original calendar, forms, clients, services, or payment history.

When reinstalling the app makes sense

GlossGenius recommends ordinary app troubleshooting such as checking the connection and using the current application version. Its support page also states that deleting and reinstalling the app does not remove account data because that data is stored on GlossGenius servers.

Reinstallation can help with a damaged local app installation. It will not fix a missing permission, wrong business profile, disabled notification category, or misconfigured booking rule.

Test the browser first.

If browser access works normally, the account itself is probably available. The investigation can then stay focused on the app, device, or local network.

Team permissions that affect client communication

GlossGenius lets owners decide whether team members can access client information, manage appointments, view reports, change working hours, or send mass email and text campaigns.

These permissions should be narrower than the ownerโ€™s access unless the role genuinely requires more.

A receptionist may need broad calendar access but no payout authority. A provider may need personal client notes and working-hour controls without access to company-wide marketing campaigns.

GlossGenius also notes that team members who cannot view client profiles should ask the account owner to update their client permissions.

Do not reset the employeeโ€™s password to solve a permission problem. Change the role.

Reviewing payouts separately from bookings

Booking notifications and payment transfers are different systems.

GlossGenius provides a Payouts Dashboard where authorized users can review standard and instant payouts. Standard payout details can include the individual client payments grouped into a transfer. If a payout is marked Sent but has not appeared at the bank, GlossGenius recommends contacting the bank with the payoutโ€™s Trace ID.

This is a useful distinction when an appointment was completed but the expected funds appear missing.

Check the payout status first. Skip searching the clientโ€™s reminder history because notification delivery does not prove where a payment transfer currently sits.

Contacting GlossGenius support

GlossGenius currently lists phone and text support at 1-888-979-7864. Its support page notes that calls or texts may involve automated systems or AI-generated content under the companyโ€™s terms.

Contact support when:

  • The correct account email cannot be accessed
  • Verification messages do not arrive after official troubleshooting
  • A form is attached but absent from expected communications
  • A staff role displays permissions that do not match the ownerโ€™s settings
  • Browser and app behavior conflict without an obvious device cause
  • A sent payout cannot be reconciled with the bank

Describe the affected feature and whether the problem occurs in the app, browser, or both. Keep passwords, verification codes, and private payment details out of public messages.

Frequently asked questions

Do clients need a GlossGenius login?

No.

Can forms be connected to appointment messages?

Yes. Form and waiver links can appear through scheduling, confirmation, and reminder communications when those notifications are enabled.

Can every GlossGenius notification be disabled?

No. Scheduling, cancellation, and decline notifications cannot currently be turned off.

Why did my rebooking reminder not send after checkout?

One documented cause is browser checkout. GlossGenius currently says rebooking reminders cannot be triggered when checkout is completed through the web login.

Why can my employee log in but not see clients?

The person may lack client-profile permission. The account owner should review the assigned role rather than sharing another account.

Will reinstalling the app erase the business?

No. GlossGenius says account data is stored on its servers and is not removed by reinstalling the app.

Can clients reschedule their own appointments?

They can when the business enables that option and the change falls outside the configured cancellation window.

Where should I look for a missing bank transfer?

Open the Payouts Dashboard. When a transfer shows Sent, obtain its Trace ID and ask the receiving bank to investigate.
