GlossGenius is business software for beauty, wellness, salon, spa, medspa, and other appointment-based professionals. Owners and authorized team members enter through the GlossGenius app or browser login, while clients normally book through the individual business’s public website without creating an account.
This independent guide is not operated by or affiliated with GlossGenius.
Use the professional login to manage services, booking restrictions, working hours, payments, and client records. A client looking for an appointment should open the provider’s booking website instead.
What GlossGenius is used for
GlossGenius combines scheduling, online booking, client management, payment processing, marketing, reporting, and team tools in one platform. It supports solo professionals as well as businesses with multiple providers or locations.
The business account and client booking site are connected but serve different jobs.
The private account contains operational settings. The public site shows the services, professionals, and appointment times that the business has made available.
Clients do not normally sign in.
GlossGenius describes its public booking process as login-free and says clients do not need to download an app. Someone trying to schedule a service should use the specific provider’s link rather than the main business login.
That distinction should be checked before changing a password.
Where to find the professional login
GlossGenius documents its browser login for owners and team members who want to access the platform from a computer. The official mobile app provides another route.
The email address entered must belong to the intended owner or team account. Professionals who have worked with more than one GlossGenius business should confirm which profile is open before changing services, schedules, or payment settings.
A person can sign in successfully and still lack access to certain controls. That usually points to a team role or permission setting rather than an invalid login.
Check the account identity first. Skip password recovery when the missing feature belongs to another business profile or requires owner-level permission.
Browser and mobile capabilities can also differ. When a setting is absent on one device, check the official documentation before assuming it has been removed.
How clients reach the booking page
Each participating business can publish its own GlossGenius booking website. Clients may reach it through the provider’s main website, Google Business Profile, Instagram, Facebook, Yelp, an appointment message, or a direct link.
The booking page may display:
- Services
- Available professionals
- Open appointment times
- Business details
- Booking policies
- Required payment steps
The exact flow depends on how the business configured its account.
A solo provider may send clients directly from a service to a calendar. A team business may require the client to choose a professional, or it may automatically offer anyone qualified to perform the selected service.
Clients should contact the business about special availability. GlossGenius operates the software but does not decide when an independent provider works.
Booking rules that can block a client
GlossGenius lets businesses set account-wide online booking rules. For a team account, those rules apply to the whole team rather than only the owner who changes them.
One current setting allows online booking to be limited to Existing Clients Only. Under that configuration, only people with an existing client profile in the business’s GlossGenius account can schedule through the public site.
That can look like a technical failure to a first-time client.
Another setting controls whether a card must be provided during online booking. The available rule can permit no card requirement or require one according to the business’s selected conditions.
Review booking rules before troubleshooting individual clients. Skip repeated browser tests when the account is intentionally restricted to existing clients.
For team businesses, remember that a change can affect every provider using the shared booking system.
Why a service disappears from the website
A service can exist inside the business account without appearing publicly.
GlossGenius’s current documentation says a solo business must enable Available to book online for the service to appear on its booking website. For a team business, the service must have that setting enabled and at least one assigned provider must also be available for online booking.
There is currently no supported way to show a service publicly while making it unavailable for booking by every provider.
That is a specific product limitation.
A business wanting to advertise a consultation-only or contact-to-book service cannot simply display it as a non-bookable listing through this setting. The provider may need to explain the service elsewhere on its website or use another approved booking arrangement.
When a service is missing, review:
- Available to book online
- Assigned providers
- Each provider’s online-booking status
- Working hours
- Service duration
- Existing appointments and blocked time
Do this first. Skip deleting and recreating the service until those settings have been checked.
Why open-looking calendar time cannot be booked
A visible gap is not always large enough for the selected service.
A 90-minute appointment needs a continuous 90-minute opening. Two smaller gaps on either side of another appointment cannot be combined. Staff working hours and booking limits must also allow the entire service to fit.
Service options introduce another layer. GlossGenius lets a business create variations under one service, including options with different durations or prices. Those variations can appear differently in the app, browser account, and public booking flow.
One option may therefore be available while another is not.
Test the exact service variation that the client selected. Do not rely on the availability of a shorter or differently assigned version.
A clean diagnostic is to open the public booking page in a private browser window, select the same provider and service option, and inspect several dates. This reproduces the client route without changing account data.
Automatic and manual booking approval
GlossGenius supports automatic confirmation of online appointment requests. When auto-approval is enabled, an eligible booking is confirmed and added to the calendar without manual review.
Businesses may instead require manual approval.
Under manual approval, the provider receives a notification when a client submits a request. The request must be accepted or denied, and an unanswered request can expire and be removed from the calendar.
A pending request is not the same as a confirmed appointment.
Clients may believe they are fully booked because they completed the online form. Businesses using manual approval should make the status clear and review pending requests promptly.
Check the approval setting before investigating a “missing” appointment. It may be waiting for action rather than lost.
Fixing a failed GlossGenius login
Start with Forgot Password when the account password is uncertain. GlossGenius sends a recovery email with a reset link that remains valid for 24 hours.
When no verification text arrives, the user may have unsubscribed from GlossGenius authentication messages. The official troubleshooting page provides resubscription instructions and also says that, after the 30-second timer expires, the user can select Verify by email when access to the registered phone number is unavailable.
That email alternative is useful.
Use this order:
- Verify the account email.
- Enter the credentials manually rather than using autofill.
- Request a password reset if needed.
- Try the official browser and app separately.
- Use the documented email-verification option when text delivery fails.
- Contact official support when neither recovery route works.
Do not create a replacement business account merely because one verification code did not arrive.
Pausing an account instead of canceling it
A professional taking a temporary break may not need to cancel or delete the account.
GlossGenius currently offers an account-pause option, but accounts using annual subscription billing are not eligible to be paused.
This makes billing type important.
A temporary pause can be more appropriate for seasonal leave, a short closure, or a planned interruption when the owner expects to return. Cancellation is a different action, while full account deletion can permanently remove recoverable data.
Before pausing or canceling, inspect future appointments and public booking availability. Clients should not be allowed to schedule dates the business cannot honor.
Owners on annual billing should review other available account options through official support rather than assuming the pause control is broken.
Reactivating a canceled account
GlossGenius distinguishes canceled accounts from deleted accounts.
A canceled account retains its website setup, client information, appointment history, reports, and payout history. The owner can log into the existing account, select a subscription plan, enter payment information, and reactivate it.
Deleted accounts cannot be restored, and GlossGenius says their data cannot be recovered.
Reactivate the original account first.
Creating a second business profile can separate the owner from the previous booking site, records, client history, and payment information. It also creates a risk of managing two public pages unintentionally.
An existing GlossGenius member who creates an additional business through the Business Accounts Menu does not receive another free trial for that added account.
Current plans and processing rate
GlossGenius currently lists three Beauty & Wellness plans:
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual-billing equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $28 per month | $24 per month |
| Gold | $56 per month | $48 per month |
| Platinum | $168 per month | $148 per month |
The lower effective monthly figures require annual billing. GlossGenius also lists separate Practice Essentials and Practice Advanced plans for medspa and aesthetics businesses.
Its pricing page currently advertises a flat 2.6% payment-processing rate.
Pricing, promotions, and included tools can change. Verify the live pricing page before subscribing, upgrading, or reactivating an older account.
Choose the plan around required work. Skip an upgrade based only on a long feature list.
Frequently asked questions
Do clients need a GlossGenius account?
No.
Why can an existing client book but a new client cannot?
The business may have enabled Existing Clients Only, which limits public online booking to people who already have a client profile in its account.
Can I show a service without letting anyone book it?
Not through the current service-visibility setting. GlossGenius says a service appears publicly only when it can be booked online by at least one eligible provider.
Why is my appointment request not confirmed?
The business may use manual approval. The request remains pending until the provider accepts or denies it, and it can expire if no action is taken.
How long does the reset link work?
Twenty-four hours.
Can I verify my login by email instead of text?
Yes. After the documented timer expires, the login screen can offer Verify by email when the user cannot access the account phone number.
Can an annual account be paused?
No. GlossGenius currently states that annual-billing accounts are not eligible for its pause option.
Will canceling delete my business data?
Not by itself. GlossGenius says canceled accounts retain their setup and account data, while a separately deleted account cannot be recovered.
