GlossGenius combines appointment booking, client management, payments, email campaigns, text marketing, and review tools for beauty, wellness, salon, spa, and medspa businesses. Professionals access the private account through the official app or browser login, while clients normally book through an individual business’s public website without creating a GlossGenius account.
This independent guide is not operated by or affiliated with GlossGenius.
Use the professional account to manage client communications and reviews. Clients looking for an appointment should use the provider’s booking site rather than the main login.
What GlossGenius is used for
GlossGenius gives service businesses one system for online booking, scheduling, client profiles, payments, marketing, reporting, and team management. Its marketing tools are connected to the appointment book, allowing businesses to communicate with clients recorded in the account.
The private and public sides serve different purposes.
Owners and authorized team members use the private dashboard. Clients interact with the booking website, appointment notifications, receipts, review prompts, forms, and marketing messages sent by the business.
Clients do not normally need a login. GlossGenius states that its booking process does not require an app download or customer account.
That distinction matters when a searcher reaches the wrong page. A client who wants a haircut appointment should return to the salon’s booking link. An owner who needs campaign controls should enter through the professional login.
Where professionals log in
GlossGenius documents its desktop access route through the official browser login. The mobile application provides another supported entry point.
The email address must belong to the intended owner or team profile. A person who works for several businesses may sign into a valid account but see the wrong clients, calendar, or campaign history.
Check the business name first.
A successful login does not guarantee access to all marketing or client controls. GlossGenius lets account owners assign team permissions for viewing and editing client profiles, notes, and mass email or text campaigns.
Do not share the owner’s credentials when an employee cannot open a campaign. Review the role instead.
Only the account owner can currently purchase additional marketing messages, even when another team member has permission to create and send campaigns.
Marketing messages are not appointment notifications
GlossGenius separates promotional marketing messages from operational client notifications.
Marketing campaigns promote services, openings, products, events, or other business offers. Appointment notifications cover actions such as scheduling, reminders, cancellations, and declined requests.
The distinction affects message limits.
GlossGenius says text marketing campaigns use a message-credit balance, while ordinary client and owner notifications are not restricted by that marketing balance.
A business can therefore run out of promotional text credits while appointment reminders continue to operate.
Do this first: identify which type of message failed. Skip purchasing more marketing credits when the missing communication was actually an appointment reminder controlled by notification settings.
Some operational notifications cannot be disabled. GlossGenius currently states that scheduling, cancellation, and declined-request messages remain part of the system’s client communication workflow.
Why a text credit can be used without delivery
A sent marketing message may consume credit even when the client never receives it.
GlossGenius explains that credits can still be deducted after the message is sent to the telecommunications carrier, including cases involving an invalid number, carrier spam filtering, or a client who has unsubscribed by replying STOP.
That is not the same as a message being opened.
The platform can submit the text successfully while the carrier rejects or suppresses final delivery. A declining credit balance therefore proves that messages were sent into the delivery system, not that every recipient read them.
Before sending the campaign again, check:
- Whether the client number is current
- Whether the recipient previously unsubscribed
- Whether the message resembles carrier-filtered promotional content
- Whether a test message reaches the business owner
- Whether the intended audience was selected correctly
Do not repeatedly resend the same campaign. That can spend more credits without correcting the delivery cause.
Email marketing and campaign review
GlossGenius includes email marketing in its current subscription plans. Its pricing materials list email and text marketing under the Standard plan, with higher tiers offering additional marketing and analytics capabilities.
The platform also provides an AI-assisted marketing tool for generating email and text campaign content. GlossGenius states that this assistant does not have access to account analytics, financial information, or individual client details.
Review every draft.
An automatically generated campaign may be grammatically clean while containing an inaccurate service description, expired offer, incorrect date, or promise the business cannot honor. The owner remains responsible for checking the subject line, message body, audience, and linked booking route before sending.
Use a test message first. Skip a full client-list campaign until the link, date, price, and call to action have been inspected on a real phone.
Team access to the full client list
Campaign permission can expose more than a writing screen.
GlossGenius’s current team-permission documentation says authorized team members can be given the ability to send mass email and text campaigns to all clients. The same permission area can also control whether a person may view or edit client profiles and notes.
Grant this access narrowly.
A service provider may need to review personal client notes without needing authority to message the entire business database. A marketing manager may require campaign access but not payout or subscription controls.
Do not use one broad role for every employee.
Review team permissions after staff changes, especially when someone leaves the business or changes responsibilities. Removing calendar access while leaving mass-marketing authority active creates an unnecessary client-data risk.
Client notes and profile limitations
GlossGenius client profiles can contain contact information, appointment history, transactions, notes, forms, and other service details. The current profile documentation identifies Notes and Forms as the area used to review client notes, SOAP notes, and completed Genius Form results.
Notes should remain factual and service-related.
Record formulas, preferences, relevant appointment details, and agreed follow-up information. Avoid subjective comments that another employee could misinterpret or that would be inappropriate if the client requested a copy of their records.
The browser has specific limitations. GlossGenius currently says adding a profile picture and initiating a text, call, or email directly from the client profile are unavailable through the web login.
A team member who cannot find those controls on a computer should try the mobile app before treating the issue as a permission failure.
How review requests are generated
GlossGenius connects review prompts to client receipts. Its marketing pages describe automated review requests that can direct clients toward the business’s GlossGenius website or Google Business Profile.
The receipt matters.
GlossGenius’s current receipt guidance tells businesses to send clients a receipt because that is how the client receives the opportunity to leave a review.
A completed appointment without a sent receipt may therefore fail to produce the expected review path.
Check the transaction first. Confirm that checkout was completed under the correct client and that the receipt was sent to a valid email address or phone number.
Do not send a generic marketing campaign merely to replace a missing transactional review prompt. That creates a different communication record and may use campaign credits.
Google reviews and website reviews are different
GlossGenius can support reviews displayed through the business’s own GlossGenius presence and can also connect review activity with a Google Business Profile. Current plan materials list website reviews across plans, while Google Booking and Reviews are associated with higher-tier capabilities on the pricing page.
These destinations should not be treated as identical.
A review submitted for the GlossGenius website may contribute to the business’s platform profile. A Google review is posted under the connected Google Business Profile and follows Google’s separate account and moderation systems.
Before advertising “leave us a Google review,” verify that the Google connection is active and that the receipt directs clients to the intended destination.
Skip assumptions based only on a review appearing inside GlossGenius.
Why clients stop receiving messages
A client may stop receiving appointment or marketing communications after unsubscribing from text or email messages. GlossGenius specifically identifies client opt-outs as a reason appointment notifications may no longer arrive.
The business should not override an opt-out by creating duplicate client profiles or changing the phone number format to force another message.
Confirm consent through the supported process.
Other causes can include an outdated email address, invalid mobile number, disabled notification settings, carrier filtering, or the wrong client profile being attached to the appointment.
Compare one affected client with a client who still receives messages. This narrows the problem to account-wide settings or an individual profile.
Do not change every notification toggle at once.
Website contact messages go to the account email
A client can send a message through the Contact page of a GlossGenius booking website. GlossGenius says that message is delivered to the email address associated with the business login. The client does not see that address unless the business replies from its email account.
This creates a practical access issue when the owner uses an outdated or rarely checked account email.
A booking-site contact form may be working correctly while the message sits in an inbox nobody monitors. Verify the account email and filtered mail folders before concluding that the Contact page is broken.
Replying from the business inbox can reveal that email address to the client. Use an appropriate customer-facing address when privacy or staff continuity matters.
Fixing login and account access
Use Forgot Password from the official app or browser login when the password is uncertain. GlossGenius says the recovery link remains valid for 24 hours.
When text-message verification fails, the account may have unsubscribed from authentication messages. The official troubleshooting page provides a resubscription process and offers email verification after the on-screen timer expires when the registered phone is unavailable.
A subscription-payment failure can also temporarily disable access until payment information is updated and the account is reactivated.
Check the login message first.
Do not create another account after a failed verification code. A new profile will not automatically contain the original clients, campaign history, notes, reviews, appointments, or marketing settings.
Current pricing
GlossGenius currently lists these Beauty & Wellness plans:
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual-billing equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $28 per month | $24 per month |
| Gold | $56 per month | $48 per month |
| Platinum | $168 per month | $148 per month |
The annual figures are effective monthly rates under annual billing. Standard currently includes email and text marketing, while Gold and Platinum add broader review, automation, team, and analytics functions.
Prices and plan contents can change. Verify the live pricing page before subscribing or upgrading.
Choose based on communication volume and permissions. Skip an upgrade until the business knows whether its limitation concerns message credits, Google review tools, analytics, or staff access.
Frequently asked questions
Do clients need a GlossGenius login?
No.
Are appointment reminders deducted from text marketing credits?
No. GlossGenius distinguishes ordinary notifications from credit-limited promotional text campaigns.
Why was a text credit used when the message failed?
The message may have been submitted to the carrier before being rejected, filtered, or blocked by an unsubscribe request.
Can a team member message every client?
Yes, when the owner grants mass email and text campaign permission. Only the owner can currently buy additional marketing messages.
Why did the client not receive a review request?
Check whether checkout was completed and a receipt was sent. GlossGenius ties the client review opportunity to the receipt workflow.
Can I text a client from the browser profile?
Not currently. Direct text, call, and email actions from the client profile are unavailable through the web login.
Where do booking-site contact messages go?
They go to the email associated with the GlossGenius account login.
Should I create a duplicate client after an unsubscribe?
No. Respect the opt-out and use GlossGenius’s supported client communication controls.
