GlossGenius is business software for appointment booking, payments, client management, reporting, memberships, and service packages. Owners and authorized staff use the official app or browser account, while clients normally schedule through a businessโ€™s public booking website without creating a professional login.

This independent guide is not operated by or affiliated with GlossGenius.

Use the business account to create, sell, and manage prepaid offers. Clients who only need an appointment should open the individual providerโ€™s booking page instead of the main account login.

What GlossGenius does

GlossGenius combines an online booking site with private tools for calendars, payments, services, clients, marketing, inventory, reports, and team management. Its current platform is aimed at beauty, wellness, salon, spa, and medspa businesses ranging from solo providers to larger teams.

The public and private sides serve different jobs.

A client uses the public site to select services, make appointments, and purchase eligible retail offers. The owner and permitted staff use the private account to configure those offers and review how they are used.

Do not confuse a booking login with client authentication during a purchase. GlossGenius may ask a client buying a membership to verify an active mobile number so the purchase can be connected to the correct client profile, but that does not create access to the business dashboard.

Where professionals log in

Professionals can access GlossGenius through its mobile application or browser account. The available controls can depend on the plan, device, business profile, and team-member permissions.

A missing membership or package control does not automatically mean the login failed.

The user may be signed into the wrong business, working under a restricted staff role, or using a plan that does not include the expected function. GlossGenius also maintains separate mobile and web navigation for many business tasks.

Check the account identity first. Skip password recovery when the dashboard already opens and only one management tool is missing.

For genuine access problems, GlossGenius provides login troubleshooting for forgotten passwords and verification-code issues on both mobile and web.

Memberships and packages are not the same

A membership creates an ongoing client arrangement, commonly involving recurring billing or recurring benefits. A package is generally a defined quantity of services or products purchased together.

The distinction affects payment, redemption, reporting, and client expectations.

A package might contain several visits that are used over time. A membership can continue until it expires, is canceled, or reaches another condition established by the business and platform configuration.

Choose the structure around what the client receives.

Use a package when selling a fixed number of clearly defined items. Use a membership when the offer is meant to recur or maintain an ongoing relationship. Do not describe a fixed three-visit bundle as unlimited access, and do not present a recurring membership as a one-time purchase.

GlossGenius markets memberships and packages as tools that work alongside booking, payments, and client management.

Creating a package

GlossGenius currently supports creating and updating packages through both the mobile app and web browser. The feature is listed across subscription plans, with Manage Packages and Manage Client Packages identified as relevant team permissions.

A useful package needs more than a title.

Before publishing it, define:

  1. The included services or products
  2. The number of included uses
  3. The total selling price
  4. Any expiration or usage conditions
  5. Which professionals can fulfill the services
  6. How remaining credits will be handled

Create one test package first.

Sell it to a test client profile, schedule one included service, and confirm that the remaining quantity is reduced correctly. This catches mismatched services and redemption rules before real clients purchase the offer.

Do not create duplicate packages merely to correct a spelling or price issue. GlossGenius provides tools for updating package configurations and purchased client packages, so review the existing record before replacing it.

Selling a client membership

GlossGenius allows memberships to be sold through the public booking website or in person. On the booking site, clients currently begin under Shop > Memberships and add the desired membership to their bag.

An active mobile number is required during that online purchase flow so GlossGenius can authenticate the buyer and connect the membership to the client profile.

In-person sales can be processed through several routes. Current web instructions include Calendar > Quick Sale, a Quick Sale from the client profile, or adding the membership during checkout. In the mobile app, the membership can be added through + Add More > Memberships during checkout.

Attach the sale to the correct client.

A membership recorded under the wrong or duplicate client profile can make future redemption difficult to reconcile. Search for the existing client before creating another profile with a slightly different phone number, email address, or name spelling.

A limitation for separate bank accounts

Not every team member can sell memberships.

GlossGenius states that team members using its Separate Bank Account feature do not have access to sell client memberships.

That is a role and payment-structure limitation, not necessarily an application error.

An employee may complete ordinary services and manage their calendar but still be unable to add a membership during checkout. Resetting the employeeโ€™s password will not change this restriction.

Check the teamโ€™s payment arrangement first. Skip granting broader permissions until the owner confirms whether the separate-bank setup itself prevents the transaction.

Memberships cannot be purchased with BNPL

GlossGenius currently says Buy Now, Pay Later providers cannot be used to purchase client memberships.

The absence of Affirm, Afterpay, Klarna, or another enabled BNPL option at membership checkout may therefore be expected behavior.

BNPL remains available only for eligible transaction types and approved clients. For supported GlossGenius transactions, the current documented range is $50 to $4,000, and approval is decided by the selected BNPL provider rather than GlossGenius.

Do not promise financing approval.

A client may qualify for one purchase and be declined for another. Membership sales should be planned around the accepted payment methods that actually appear in the checkout flow.

Selling versus redeeming

Selling a membership or package creates the clientโ€™s entitlement. Redemption uses part of that entitlement during an eligible checkout.

Those are separate events.

A provider should confirm that the correct service is attached to the offer before attempting redemption. A service with a similar name is not necessarily interchangeable if the package or membership was configured around another item.

During checkout, review:

  • The correct client profile
  • The active membership or package
  • The eligible service
  • The remaining balance or quantity
  • Any additional amount due
  • The payment method for the uncovered portion

Do not use a generic discount to imitate package redemption. That may reduce the checkout total without correctly updating the clientโ€™s remaining benefits.

GlossGenius documents membership sales and redemptions as part of the client checkout workflow.

Updating an offer after clients purchase it

Changing a package for future buyers may not automatically produce the intended change for every client who already purchased an earlier version.

This is why GlossGenius distinguishes package creation and updates from managing purchased client packages.

Suppose a business changes a package from four services to five. The owner should not assume every prior buyer instantly receives the additional service unless the purchased package record confirms it.

Review existing client entitlements separately.

The same caution applies to price changes. Raising the public package price should not be treated as permission to retroactively charge someone who completed an earlier purchase under different terms.

Keep the historical transaction and the current public offer distinct.

Payment processing and transfers

GlossGenius currently advertises a standard card-processing rate of 2.6% for ordinary eligible transactions. The company also offers configurations in which the business pays 2.6%, 1%, or 0%, with corresponding client convenience fees of 0%, 2.5%, or 3.5%.

The selected processing structure should be reviewed before selling a higher-value package.

For example, a client convenience fee can noticeably change the checkout total on a prepaid offer. Show the final amount clearly before payment and do not describe a processor fee as sales tax.

A successful package or membership payment is also different from a bank-posted payout. GlossGenius sends standard transfers according to its payment cutoff schedule, while the receiving bank determines final availability. Payments taken before the documented 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time cutoff generally enter that eveningโ€™s transfer schedule.

Check the payout record first. Skip assumptions based only on the clientโ€™s purchase time.

Transaction signatures and browser checkout

GlossGenius combines gratuity and signature screens in the mobile app. Clients may skip signing by proceeding to payment, but the company states that obtaining a signature can create stronger transaction evidence in a later chargeback case.

Clients are not currently prompted to sign for transactions processed through the web browser login.

That difference matters for higher-value prepaid offers.

A business selling an expensive package in person may prefer a supported mobile checkout where the client can review the transaction and sign. The signature does not eliminate dispute risk, but it can document the clientโ€™s participation in the sale.

Do not treat it as guaranteed chargeback protection.

Why payment processing shows inactive

An account can remain accessible while card acceptance is unavailable.

GlossGenius has a dedicated troubleshooting article for accounts whose Payment Processing status appears as Inactive. The issue must be resolved before the business can resume eligible card transactions.

Possible account-level causes require review inside the payment setup and verification area rather than repeated checkout attempts.

Do this first: stop attempting new membership or package charges until the status is active. Skip manual workarounds that would leave the sale disconnected from the clientโ€™s GlossGenius record.

GlossGeniusโ€™s current payment setup documentation covers verification and account configuration for individual and team businesses.

Current GlossGenius pricing

GlossGenius currently lists these Beauty & Wellness subscription prices:

PlanMonthly billingAnnual billing
Standard$28 per month$288 per year
Gold$56 per month$576 per year
Platinum$168 per month$1,776 per year

Annual billing produces effective monthly rates of $24, $48, and $148. Applicable sales tax varies by the location connected to account verification.

Separate Practice plans are offered for medspa and aesthetics businesses. Available membership, reporting, team, and clinical features can differ by subscription.

Verify the live pricing page before subscribing or upgrading. Plan contents, promotional terms, and prices may change.

Choose the plan around actual operations. Skip a higher tier when the business only needs basic scheduling and package management.
