GlossGenius is a business platform for appointment scheduling, online booking, client management, checkout, payments, and salon operations. Professionals enter through the official app or browser login, while clients normally book through a provider’s public site without creating a GlossGenius account.
This independent guide is not affiliated with or operated by GlossGenius.
Use the professional account to manage appointments, checkout, recurring visits, receipts, and client records. A client who only wants an appointment should open the individual business’s booking link.
What GlossGenius is used for
GlossGenius combines a public booking site with private tools for scheduling, payments, client profiles, marketing, reports, staff management, and other daily business tasks. It is marketed to solo professionals and multi-person beauty or wellness businesses.
The public and private sides serve different users.
Clients can select a professional, choose one or more services, pick an available time, and enter their contact information through the business’s booking site. The client does not need to download the GlossGenius app or create an account.
Professionals use the private account to see the working calendar, edit appointments, check out clients, manage notes, and control business settings.
A wrong-page visit can resemble a login problem. Check the user’s role before resetting anything.
Where professionals log in
GlossGenius documents its browser access route on the official website. Professionals can also use the mobile application, and the available controls may differ between those two interfaces.
Sign in with the email associated with the correct business or team profile. A valid login may open the wrong business when the owner manages multiple accounts, or it may show reduced controls when the signed-in person has a restricted team role.
Missing client access can be a permission issue. GlossGenius instructs team members who cannot view clients to ask the account owner to update their client permissions.
Check the role first. Skip password recovery when the user can already see the dashboard but lacks one specific function.
The browser also has limitations. Adding a client profile picture and initiating a text, call, or email from a client profile are currently unavailable through web access.
What happens during client checkout
GlossGenius checkout connects the completed appointment with its services, products, payment method, receipt, and possible future booking. The workflow can be completed from supported account interfaces, but some final actions differ between mobile and web.
During checkout, the professional should confirm:
- The correct client is attached
- Completed services are accurate
- Retail products were added correctly
- Discounts or adjustments are intentional
- The selected payment method matches the transaction
- The receipt destination is correct
Review the total before charging.
Correcting a service after payment is more complicated than catching the error on the checkout screen. A rushed checkout can also produce inaccurate sales reports, staff totals, or client history.
GlossGenius currently does not support placing more than one client under a single appointment or checking out multiple clients in one checkout.
That limitation matters for families, bridal groups, and paired services. Each client should have an appropriate appointment and checkout record rather than being combined informally under one person.
Printing and sending receipts
GlossGenius offers receipt options after checkout, but the available delivery method can depend on the account setup and device.
The current checkout documentation says the additional-options menu can include printing a receipt or booking a future appointment. Printing is available through the web browser rather than the mobile app, and GlossGenius does not support dedicated thermal receipt printers.
Use an ordinary compatible printer through the browser when a paper receipt is needed.
There is also a specific limitation for accounts using the HIPAA Add-on. GlossGenius currently states that those members can send receipts by text, but not by email.
Do not repeatedly edit the client email when the delivery restriction comes from the account’s compliance configuration.
Check the receipt method before ending checkout, especially when the client expects documentation for reimbursement or business records.
Rebooking after an appointment
A professional can schedule the client’s next visit as part of the post-appointment workflow. GlossGenius provides a dedicated mobile rebooking process with several options for selecting the next appointment.
Rebooking immediately can be useful for services performed on a predictable cycle. It also carries a practical risk: the future service may have a different duration, staff assignment, or price by the time the client returns.
Confirm the details.
Do not copy the previous appointment blindly when the next visit requires another treatment, provider, or amount of time. Open the future appointment and verify the service before saving it.
A rebooking reminder is different from an actual future appointment. Automated prompts may encourage the client to return, but they do not place an appointment on the calendar unless a booking is completed.
Book the appointment when the date is agreed. Use a reminder when the client has not committed.
Creating recurring appointments
GlossGenius supports repeating appointments through the app and browser. Current documentation explains how to create and delete a recurring series for clients.
The important limitation appears after an ordinary appointment has already been created: GlossGenius says an existing one-time appointment cannot currently be converted into a repeating appointment.
The series must be set up through the recurring workflow.
This can catch a professional who schedules the first six-week appointment, then later decides to repeat it. Editing the original visit will not expose a conversion switch.
Create the recurring series correctly from the beginning. Skip duplicating dozens of individual appointments unless the schedule genuinely varies each time.
Before saving a long series, inspect several future dates for holidays, planned leave, seasonal hours, and service-duration changes. A clean repeating pattern can quietly place visits on dates the business does not intend to work.
Why a recurring appointment creates conflicts
Recurring appointments reserve future calendar time. They can conflict with appointments, blocked periods, changing work schedules, or another series created later.
A calendar may appear open at a glance while the requested service cannot fit. The full duration must be available, and all relevant booking rules must permit the appointment.
GlossGenius’s online-booking controls can impose minimum advance notice. For example, a 24-hour setting prevents clients from booking within the following 24 hours. It can also limit access to existing clients and require acknowledgment of the cancellation policy.
Those rules affect public booking, while internally created and recurring appointments follow the professional workflow. The two calendars are connected, but the routes are not identical.
When a conflict appears, compare:
- Service duration
- Provider schedule
- Existing and recurring appointments
- Blocked time
- Booking notice
- Selected location
- Appointment status
Do not widen the entire calendar. Find the exact overlap first.
Editing or rescheduling an appointment
GlossGenius lets professionals change an appointment’s date, time, services, and notes. The final save control in the current documented workflow is labeled Book It.
Notifications require attention.
The current support article says update notifications cannot be sent by text from the GlossGenius mobile app. When the client has no email address on file, GlossGenius recommends making the appointment change through the web browser.
That is a concrete device difference.
A professional can edit the calendar successfully yet leave the client unaware of the change. Before saving, check which communication method the interface offers and whether the client profile contains the necessary contact channel.
For a significant same-day change, direct contact may be more reliable than assuming an automated update was delivered.
When the calendar says a time is unavailable
An apparent double-booking warning can come from an appointment that is difficult to see, a recurring series, provider availability, a service-duration overlap, or blocked calendar time.
Recent user discussions also describe cases where a time looked available during rebooking but produced a conflict when selected. Such reports are anecdotal and do not establish the cause for another account, but they show why the exact appointment and calendar state should be documented before contacting support.
Reproduce the problem carefully.
Record the date, provider, service, duration, and whether the conflict occurs in mobile, web, or both. Then inspect the calendar from a wider daily or weekly view.
Do not delete appointments merely to test availability. An existing booking may be harder to reconstruct afterward, and its transaction or client history may matter.
If the calendar remains inconsistent across interfaces, use official support and describe the specific slot rather than reporting only that the calendar is broken.
Fixing login and verification problems
Use Forgot Password from the official app or browser login when the password is uncertain. GlossGenius sends the recovery instructions to the email connected to the account.
When the user enters the correct email and password but does not receive another verification code, the official troubleshooting instructions direct the user back to the login page to request a new code.
Loss of access to the account email requires another route. GlossGenius says its support team can help change the address when the user no longer has access to the existing one.
Use this order:
- Confirm the business email
- Enter the password manually
- Request password recovery
- Test the app and browser
- Retry account verification
- Contact official support if the registered email is inaccessible
Do not open a second business account. It will not restore the original calendar, recurring series, checkout history, client profiles, or reports.
Subscription access and current pricing
GlossGenius currently offers multiple Beauty & Wellness plans, with features varying by tier. Its pricing page also advertises login-free online booking and a flat 2.6% payment-processing rate.
Check the live pricing page before choosing a plan because rates, annual discounts, and included features can change.
A failed subscription payment can interfere with account access. GlossGenius says an expired or compromised card may require support assistance when the owner needs immediate account access.
Fix billing inside the existing account first.
A subscription issue should not be handled by rebuilding the calendar under another profile. The original account contains operational records that may be needed for appointments, clients, payments, and reporting.
Frequently asked questions
Do clients need a GlossGenius login?
No.
Can two clients share one appointment?
GlossGenius currently says no. The system does not support more than one client under one appointment or a combined multi-client checkout.
Can I print a receipt from the app?
No. Receipt printing is currently available through the web browser, and dedicated thermal receipt printers are not supported.
Can I turn an existing appointment into a recurring series?
Not currently. The repeating series must be created through the recurring-appointment workflow.
Why did my client not receive a text after rescheduling?
GlossGenius currently does not support sending appointment-update texts from the mobile app. Use the browser when the client has no email on file, or contact the client directly.
Is a rebooking reminder the same as a booked appointment?
No. A reminder prompts the client to schedule; it does not reserve a calendar slot.
Why does an open-looking time produce a conflict?
The service may overlap an existing appointment, blocked period, recurring series, or provider boundary. Inspect the exact duration and the full calendar before changing availability.
Should I create another account when login recovery fails?
No. Confirm the email, use official recovery, test both interfaces, and contact GlossGenius support when the registered email cannot be accessed.
